[Travel to Korea] A night in a traditional Hanok home, full of warmth, hospitality

www.Korea.net wrote an article about Korean Hanok Tteulanchae!
Amid the forest of high rises in downtown Seoul, there is a chic quarter of traditional Hanok houses, creating a stark contrast between tradition and modernity.

It’s the Bukchon Hanok Village, located in Jongno-gu. Travelers who hit the neighborhood as part of their itinerary can do more than simply appreciate the iconic traditional structures. They can also stay at one of those Hanok homes to find out what living in such an old-fashioned residence is all about.

Lodging at a Hanok allows you to take a respite from the hustle and bustle of city life and it is a quiet place to heal the wounds of both the mind and the spirit. Guests are welcomed by a hospitable host and huddle together with other travelers to share their own life stories.

[House in Korea] Tteuranchae Hanokstay @Bukchon Hanok Village, Seoul

Kozaza and many guests strongly recommend this Hanokstay, “Tteuranchae”!

Review by Ci Ji Lim

* We had a fantastic time with our host, Madam Choi. This hanok stay is located right in the middle of the Bukchon Hanok village, convenient to go to many other attractions via metro. The place is extremely well-furnished and clean. The daily breakfast prepared by Madam Choi is traditional Korean breakfast that is delicious and warm. Beautiful views from the window. As Madam Choi only speaks Korean, she tried her best to communicate with us in English through her cell phone. So those who do not speak Korean but want to experience authentic Korean family homestay should come to her place. I will not hesitate to book this hanok stay when I am back in Seoul.

Hanokstays in Korea TV program “The Human Condition”.

The member stayed in CheongYeonJae Hanokstay in Bukchon. And they visited Myeongjae House.

Myeongjae House, designated as Important Folk Relic No. 190, is the house of Yun Jeung who was a Confucian scholar during the reign of King Sukjong from the Joseon dynasty. The ""-shaped Anchae (women's quarters) looks stable as it sits on a platform built of natural stones. The house has a spacious outer garden with a man-made pond. A small round islet floats in the middle of the pond with flowers and shrubs planted at the water's edge. Behind the Anchae there is an unique rear garden on a gentle slope.
